Mountain Ridge Mental Health, PLLC
Hello! My name is Amber and I am a fully licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Michigan. I have been practicing since 2018 following my graduation from Western Michigan University with a specialization in Trauma Across the Lifespan. Currently I live in the stunning Upper Peninsula of Michigan with my husband and our crew of animals, including our cat, dog, two Scottish Highland cows, and four horses.
I have worked alongside many people to help support them on their journey to mental health. From the feelings of isolation in depression to the “always on” feelings of anxiety and everywhere in between. I enjoy working with clients of all ages and have experience in supporting various needs across the lifespan. I have worked extensively with clients in crisis or with trauma and have spent years supporting high risk clients on crisis lines across the nation.
My passion for helping was married well to my love of animals when I started working with them to support my clients in Animal Assisted Therapy. I have watched success rates soar for my clients when they worked alongside various animals and believe wholeheartedly that there are special ways we can connect with animals that bring healing to our minds and souls. I have seen many groups benefit from Animals Assisted Therapy including those with depression, anxiety, grief, PTSD, complex relationship issues, and veterans to name a few.
